Poly. The jacket. the beginning

The Greek-German label Sohreh puts a unique spin on the classic jacket. Our debut jacket, POLY, is named after the Greek prefix for "many," reflecting its versatile design. With three distinct ways to wear it, POLY adapts to your lifestyle, inspired by the dynamic pace of Berlin.

The idea for POLY originated from Lara's experiences on Berlin's warm metro, where she imagined a jacket that could be adjusted for comfort on the go. This versatility is central to POLY's design, offering both style and practicality.

Materials - Mono and deadstock

We focus on using mono materials like wool and linen, as well as deadstock fabrics.

What are Mono-materials?
Mono-materials are textiles made from a single type of polymer or fiber. They offer distinct advantages in the fashion and performance industries due to their uniform composition, which facilitates easier recycling at the end of the product lifecycle. This is because mono-materials eliminate the need for fiber separation. Their benefits? They are easier to recycle and require lower energy and resource consumption in the manufacturing process.

What is Deadstock?
Deadstock, also known as "overstock," "surplus fabric," or "remnant," refers to leftover fabric that can no longer be used for its original purpose or order fulfillment. Without repurposing, this fabric would otherwise be discarded.

Deadstock fabrics, which would otherwise go to waste, are repurposed into our limited collections, making each jacket unique.

Naming our products

Our product names are inspired by the richness of the Greek language. For our debut jacket, we chose "Poly," a name derived from the Ancient Greek prefix meaning "many," symbolizing the jacket's versatility.

As we move into our next collection, we're continuing this tradition with names rooted in Greek. This time, we're focusing on colors, with names like "Mavros" (black) and "Aspros" (white), adding a vibrant touch to each piece.
